It is important for patients to learn about their diabetes from a Certified Diabetes Care & Education Specialist (CDCES) with a recognized Diabetes Self-Management Education/Support (DSMES) program.

Education materials are available at no cost for providers to order from the South Dakota Department of Health for healthcare providers to share with patients. Click below to view and order available materials.
In addition to providing provider education materials to South Dakotan providers, the South Dakota Diabetes Coalition also travels the state to attend conferences and health fairs to educate providers, nurses, physician assistants, etc. about the South Dakota Diabetes Coalition.
