Cost Savings

Conservative numbers regarding senior care were obtained from various facilities in South Dakota, and cross-referenced with average costs of senior care in South Dakota. In South Dakota, an average cost for a private pay, semi-private room in a skilled nursing facility is $199 per day, or $6,169 per month. In comparison, the average cost of a single room in an assisted living facility is $3,023 per month and the average cost of a single bedroom apartment in an independent living facility is $1,399 per month.

The following tables show conservative estimates regarding the monthly and yearly savings of an individual living in an assisted living facility or an independent living facility and receiving Virtual/Delegating Nurse Care versus living in a skilled nursing facility (based on 4 insulin administrations per day.)
